SYSTEM INPUT/OUTPUT
UNIT (SIO)
The
SIO provides for the majority of the electrical interconnections to the
robotic vehicle. A Controller Area Network Input/Output circuit card provides
the electrical interface between the Standardized Robotic
System kit and the unmanned ground vehicle.
The SIO:
- Receives electrical
commands from the Vehicle Control Unit
(VCU) and passes them to the vehicle
- Receives analog
and digital data from the vehicle gauges
- Converts analog
signals to digital signals, then passes this information to the VCU,
which in turn sends feedback data to the Operator
Control Unit via the communication/telemetry radio frequency link
