TELEOPERATED FORKLIFT FOR HAZARDOUS AREAS
ORI
has adapted its Standardized Teleoperation System
(STS) to a heavy duty construction fork lift for unmanned operation in
hazardous work areas. STS kits keep vehicle operators out of hazardous
environments while the mission is accomplished safely.
Applications include
Counterterrorism, emergency response, and hazardous materials handling.
This adaptation of STS has clear value for Counter-terrorism and Hazardous
Materials incidents on or off road. The STS allows the Skytrak to be changed
between manned and unmanned operation with the flick of a switch.
Englewood,
Colorado - August 1, 1997: Omnitech Robotics has adapted STS kits
to over forty vehicles for unmanned military and commercial missions. STS
kits adapted on such diverse vehicles as M60
Panther and M1 Panther II
tanks, tractors, High-mobility
Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles, and all-terrain
vehicles permit unmanned operation in hazardous areas while the operator
drives from a portable, briefcase-sized Operator
Control Unit with sound, video, instrumentation, and control of all
vehicle functions and payloads.
